I have found that 'I' is a subjective word. Its definition changes daily, and its description differs with age and time. In all certainty, the 'I' that existed 4 years ago and the 'I' that exists now, are two very different persons. I am now a mother, a wife, a daughter, a friend, and a therapist. Numerous new roles have been added onto my list that have challenged me and enabled me to grow into the person I am today.
I would like to think that the person I am now, have learnt to better view my own negativity and the negative events that befall me with a steadier heart and mind. I still fall into pits of my own making, but I build my own steps out, with some assistance at times from the greater minds and greater hearts around me. My central objective in life now is to give as much as I can in this limited lifespan, to the people around me. To connect as much as I can with those whom I have the opportunity to cross paths with in this remaining lifetime. To strive for a better me, each day I awake. To pick myself up gracefully each time I fall, and to forgive the lesser version of myself with the bigness of my heart.
"This too will pass." - a quote that has proven itself true time and time again. Life too, will one day pass. It is my aim to not let the life that has been bestowed upon me, pass in vain.
I would like to thank my teachers thus far on this journey.
You are every person I have met and been inspired by. You are every person who have challenged my thoughts and rocked my emotions. You are every person who have confided in me, believed in me, and sought my help.
You have shown me that unconditional love exists against all odds. You have shown me that the choices that we make, define us. You have taught me about the importance of humility and compassion. You have reminded me time and time again that sometimes, the solution is as simple as letting go.
Thank you for being my guides. Thank for deepening my belief in serendipity - that beautiful moments can be found in hidden corners around us, if we just remember to look.
This is what 'I' wish for you.
